How much does an AgeVend machine cost? +
Every AV-1 is a flat $9,500 for the machine itself — all hardware, verification modules, payment hardware, on-site install, and staff training included. Shipping (billed at cost from our Atlanta facility) and applicable sales tax are additional and due at contract signing. Same $9,500 base price for one machine or one hundred.
What are the financing terms? +
Two options, both underwritten directly by AgeVend — no third-party lender. 0% APR over 12 months (~$792/mo) or 9.99% APR over 24 months (~$438/mo). Approved in 24 hours with standard business documentation. No prepayment penalty. Taxes and shipping are due at contract signing.
Which products can I sell in an AgeVend machine? +
Tobacco, vape, hemp-derived products, alcohol (where licensed), licensed cannabis (in legal jurisdictions), and other age-restricted categories. We'll help you confirm local compliance as part of onboarding.
How does age verification actually work? +
Three factors. (1) The customer scans a government-issued ID. (2) A camera matches their face to the photo on the ID. (3) The ID is validated against public records in real time. Only then does the machine unlock the selection.
How much does age verification cost per transaction? +
Two tiers, billed monthly per machine. $1.00 per attempted ID + face verification — billed on every attempt, pass or fail, because the full multi-factor pipeline (ID scan, face match, public-records check) runs either way. $0.50 per successful fingerprint match — and no fee at all on failed fingerprint scans. A failed thumb scan automatically falls back to the standard $1.00 ID + face flow, so you only ever pay for the verification path that actually ran. Repeat customers who enroll their fingerprint cost half as much to verify, every visit, forever — which is why we make fingerprint enrollment one tap on the screen after a customer's first ID check passes.
How does shipping work? +
We handle shipping in-house with our own trucks and drivers out of Atlanta, Georgia — which lets us bill freight at cost rather than marking it up. Shipping cost plus applicable sales tax is calculated on your quote and due at contract signing. Typical window is 7–14 business days from signed contract anywhere in the continental U.S.
What about warranty and support? +
1-year warranty across the board on hardware and software, included. After-hours support via SMS and phone. Remote diagnostics on every machine — we often fix issues before you notice them.
Is the AgeVend Dashboard required? +
Yes. AgeVend machines do not operate without an active Dashboard subscription — age verification, payments, inventory, and audit logging all run through the platform. Pricing is $79.99/mo for your first machine and $34.99/mo for each machine added thereafter on the same account. Billing activates when your first machine ships.
How do payments work? +
Every AV-1 ships with the PAX IM30 — the industry-leading Android unattended payment terminal — included in the $9,500 machine price. Card processing is handled by our payments partner Stratamize Payments at a flat 3.99%. You can either pass the card fee to the customer at checkout or absorb it. Our machines are cashless — chip, swipe, contactless, Apple Pay, and Google Pay only. A separate, lightweight payments underwriting application with Stratamize is required before go-live; we kick it off the same day you sign.
